In this tutorial we demonstrate how to use OnyakTech’s Host Commander module. The Host Commander module is a host specific module which provides various useful functions for the Host Super User.

The functions available in this module include:
  • Setting up scheduled jobs, for instance you can schedule a SQL query to execute each day
  • Provide portal statistics and work with all portals from one area
  • A Database Manager, you can view the data of tables from your database as well as execute stored procedures
  • There is a Global Time section which displays the current time in 87 locations around the world
  • You can view the server, site and portal event logs, and these logs can be displayed in easy to read charts
  • You can also Monitor Users Live which allows you to view a list of all the users currently viewing your website along with which pages they have already visited
There is also a web site snapshot generation for user profiles. The snapshot generator basically visits the website URL from a users profile; takes a snapshot of their website and then saves it as a thumbnail which you then have the option of integrating in the users profile or with other modules.

Host Commander is available to purchase from OnyakTech.
