Any time I upload an image, and then try to navigate to it by clicking the arrows, it get this error. http://i.imgur.com/7taT3.png . The strange thing is, if you close the image manager and open it back up, you can navigate just fine. The image I uploaded is there and everything. I looked in the event viewer and saw this
DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.TelerikEditorProvider.FileManagerException: Unable to complete operation. An unknown error occurred. Portal Root/West Nebraska Register PDFs/ ---> System.ArgumentException: Illegal characters in path. at System.IO.Path.CheckInvalidPathChars(String path) at System.IO.Path.Combine(String path1, String path2) at DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.TelerikEditorProvider.FileSystemValidation.CombineVirtualPath(String virtualPath, String folderOrFileName) at DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.TelerikEditorProvider.FileSystemValidation.ToVirtualPath(String path) at DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.TelerikEditorProvider.PortalContentProvider.get_TelerikContent() at DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.TelerikEditorProvider.PortalContentProvider.GetDirectoryItemWithDNNPermissions(String path, Boolean loadFiles) at DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.TelerikEditorProvider.PortalContentProvider.ResolveDirectory(String path) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
I don't see any invalid characters in that path and the file name is frontpage030912.jpg. Any ideas on how I can fix this? We're running dnn 06.00.01 (310)

I don't know if this is a problem in 6.0.1 or not. But, you could try upgrading. Upgrading will certainly fix some other issues.

One of my sites is having the same issue. With the difference that the file I upload never appears in the folder. But still, if I attempt to upload an image, then navigate in the image manager to look in the folder, I get the same error as you did above. I'm running an older dnn than you by a little bit. I'd appreciate hearing if you have solved this problem and how. - Mark

I have a solution for my site. I hope it helps you too. Uploading the file was causing the total file size limit as set in the Site Settings to be exceeded. In short, the site ran out of space. Change the limit or delete some files to make room and the problem would be fixed.
I'm happy to have a solution, but after a work day of chasing it down i'm thinking a better error message would have made all the difference.
