I love to use DNN for my customers websites, but the one thing I would like to see, is a way for the text/html modules to be versioned.

Does anyone know of a good module that will do that.  I saw Engage's "Publish" and it looks great, but the price is a little steeper than I would like.  (having said that though, if my customers wanted it bad enough they would pay for it.)

What would do the trick would just be something that upon updating the text/html module would save the HTML of your work as a text file with a date.

Who knows, I have been wanting to learn how to create my own modules.  Maybe this will be the first one I do.

Thanks for any advice you can give.  Like I said, that is about my biggest heartache with DNN.  There is no way to roll back a text/html module, unless you have the user copy and paste the html to a text file before they update the module.

If you simply upgrade to Version 5.x of DotNetNuke you will get versioning and workflow in the Text/HTML module.

If you need to stay with 4.x, there is a free replacement from Effority. If you need a more high-end product, Engage Publish includes a Text/HTML replacement that also does versioning.

Thanks a bunch.  I have a couple of DNN 5.00.01 sites.  I guess I didn't notice that.

I am running around the site now, and I am not sure how the versioning work flow works.

It is probably right there under my nose, but I don't see it.

You will want to upgrade the sites to 5.1.4, the current version. You'll find versions AND workflow under Module Settings for the HTML module.
