Hi all,

I'm trying to install DotNetNuke on my Windows 2003 server. I found several documents about doing that, but until now I did not succeed.

when I start the IE 7.0 and try to start DotNetNuke, the system always says "The page cannot be found". I'm starting it with http://localhost/DotNetNuke.

Does anyone have an idea where to look? Does anyone has a rather detailed documentation of doing this?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I use SQL Server 2005 express

You are going to have to give a few more details. I'm assuming that you haven't gotten to the part where you browse to the site and go through the Installation Wizard.

Whose instructions did you use?

Exactly how did you install DotNetNuke?
Which version?
How did you configure the IIS website? In particular, what URL did you give it?

If you can open the SQL database, look in the portalalias table and tell us what is there.

Whoops. You don't need to answer the question about the DotNetNuke version. I read the subject ... finally ...

- Windows 2003 server web edition
- created c:\DotNetNuke_2 and c:\DotNetNuke_2\website
- unzipped DotNetNuke_04.09.01_Install.zip into c:\DotNetNuke_2\website
- create a database 'dotnetnuke' in SQL Server 2005 Express
- started internet explorer and did http://localhost/dotnetnuke_2

"The page cannot be found"

I did my installation all over again. I followed the note on this site "How to install DotNetNuke 4.3".

The error I finally get is....The page cannot be displayed.
Http Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

executiong permission of what directory?

IF your web directory has full permissions for the asp.net user, then this might also be an IIS configuration problem.  Make sure that IIS is configured to permit execute access on the directory.
