dnnSlide menu changing display of events calendar

I am using the DNN slide menu and the Event Calendar and Registration 4.0 modules on the same page and am having an issue with the display in Internet Explorer. When the events calendar is on the page by itself, it displays correctly - the correct width and the correct styling. But when the menu is added to the page, the calendar's width decreases and styling doesn't apply at all. The calendar looks like it's the same width as the menu but I looked at the classes and ids for both modules and didn't find any that are the same. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? And this is only a problem in IE - it displays fine in Firefox and Chrome.

Are these both third-party modules? I would first get in touch with the developers as it seems that the two modules are interfering with one another. The two choices are CSS classes that clash, or some javascript or jQuery issues. You may be able to identify javascript or jQuery issues by hitting F12 in IE to bring up the developer tools. Choose the Script option and then you will be able to set breakpoints in the scripts to see if you can find errors. Just opening the Script tool and starting to debug may show you some errors.
