Hi I exported page templates, have done all the obvious stuff. Made sure they were in the right subdirectories, XML is good... etc...
But they don't show up on the Template drop down in the import area. Or on the page template area of the Add Page area. Even the Default Page does not show up and it is there. The only thing that shows up is "None Specified"
Any ideas...
Thanks I am at wits end

Hi, I did view those tutorials. Made the page templates. Put them in the correct directories. But the Combo Box on the import page and add pages area does not populate with them. I went ahead and loosened security up on the server so everyone had all rights. Not even the default template shows up. Any ideas? Thanks |

I have the exact same problem. But you can simplify it even further. I export a page in the Root of the portal, and then I try to import the page and NO pages are showing.
I have another DNN installation which is almost identical in which I can export and import pages with no problem.
If I solve it, I'll let you know. Might be a 4.082 problem, since your post is so recent and I just started having this problem (though I never tried this feature before, so who knows?).

Hi. I'm quite sure it's a 4.082 problem. On my 4.081 installation it works. Can anyone who has a 4.082 installation import pages? Thanks in advance to anyone who tries this. |

I did see a couple of reports over on the DotNetNuke forums with other people suggesting that there is a bug in 4.8.1 and/or 4.8.2. Let's hope it will be fixed soon. |

After spending about 16 hours on this problem...it is a critical funtionality of our application...The guys at PowerDnn...there a pretty smart bunch...did confirm it is a bug in 4.082....back to 4.7 we reverted...
ps it only happens on new portals, not ones that had been upgraded... |

For anyone else suffering from this problem, here's the solution I found (thanks to someone else) that worked for me. In Host Settings, add 'template' (without the quotes) to the 'File Upload Extensions: ' value in the 'Other Settings' section. Save the change. Then in Host File Manager re-synchronise files with the recursive option. If you don't have Host access then you'll need to get your Host to do this. Job done - templates now appear where expected. Regards, Rhys |

I had to clear the cache first before the steps detailed above would work for me. My site is using Moderate Caching. |

One further note - I had to syncronize files in the specific portal to get this to work (not just the host file manager). I'm using a new installation of 4.9. |

Hi, I am trying to understand what sycnronize files does ? Specifically, does it syncronize folder files with id's and such in the dnn database ? Can syncronizing cause any type of harm ? thanks for your time |

Synchronizing gets the display of files in the file manager in agreement (synchronization) with the actual contents of the file directory - for all files, in the database and the file directory. |
