I'm using an ascx skin with the House of Nuke menu...
The menu works etc., the menu items are rendered as text...
How can I set up things so the menu a href links also have title tags??
e.g.
foobar
which would display as
foobar
on the page, and mouseover shows the title text as a 'tooltip' thing -- at least in modern Windows browsers.
Thank you, Tom

Do you mean like the menu works here on the DNN Creative site? I thought that was taken from the "Page Title" setting and happens automatically.
But, it may also depend on a menu configuration. I just looked at two sites. One with the SolPartMenu doesn't do that. One with the Snapsis Nav Menu does behave that way.

The title TAG/ATTRIBUTE of the a href is not the same thing as the Page Title.
Please see
http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/struct...l#h-12.1.4
for an explanation of the title tag.
I mistakenly used 'tag' when I should have said 'attribute' of the a href.

I found a comment on another forum that suggests I should try the 'page description' item in the page settings, I will update after I try it.

If you take a look at StockCentral.com, the text that appears when you hover over a menu item is definitely picked up from the Page Title. That site uses the Snapsis Nav Menu.
A test site that I have uses SolPartMenu and doesn't seem display anything when the mouse hovers over the menu.

Page description is some sort of meta tag inserted into the header.
I want a title attribute attached to my anchor tag.
I can't use the Snapsis menu because it has issues with DNN Friendly URLs that will probably not be fixed for a few months.
Thank you, Tom

ok, Just to clarify, for the DNN creative menu which uses the house menu, a link is structured as such:
< li id="HouseMenuNavItem261" >
< a id="HouseMenuNavLink261" href="/Tutorials/tabid/261/Default.aspx" title="DotNetNuke Tutorials DNN Videos" tabindex="1" >Tutorials< / a >
< / li >
the title attribute is created and picked up by the house menu from the
Page Settings / Page Title option for the page

Now I understand better the titling etc.
I also understand that the menu text is being taken from the Page NAME, which means I now have to have unwieldy page names like MissionandValues.aspx instead of Mission.aspx, thanks to the way DNN Friendly URLs work.
Yet another DNN oddity that IMO should not be there.
Page/file name should not be hardwired to menu items per se IMO.
Thanks a lot for your help, Tom
