Hi,
When I change my dnn portal current locale to for example dutch and I click on a link to another page on my website, the current locale always changes to the default locale, which is English.
This problem doesn't occur when I browse through the pages with the menu, only when I click on a link that I entered myself in for example the html - module.
Is there any possibility to add the current language to such a link, so it doesn't change always to the default language?
Thanks in advance |

When inserting a link in the Text/HTML Module in DNN, you can insert a whole bunch of settings in the advanced tab...
I tried inserting the language - code here, but it's still not working... |

Take a look at the links that get created. Do they have "language/en-US/Default.aspx" or something similar at the end? If so, that is a clue that DotNetNuke is sending you to the link with a language specified.
Have you set a default language in the advanced section of Site Settings? |

thanks for your reaction
yes, I indeed have "language/en-US/Default.aspx" at the end of the created links.
I have set a default language in the site settings, is there any way to disable this?

Each subscriber also has a Preferred Local that determines language. Set this in your user profile. If yours is set to english, then changing it should change the performance. |

I can indeed change this preferred local but then I am just moving the problem... If I set the preferred locale to dutch, any hyperlink will always display the page requested in dutch.. This should also work for unauthenticated users, so I don't think that changing the preferred local will solve the issue... Anyway, thanks for you reaction |

My understanding is that the behavior should be different for logged in users and for unauthenticated users.
Logged in users should see the site in their "preferred locale" language, even if you've set the site's default to a different locale.
Unauthenticated users should see the site in the default language.
If you have a link on your site to change the language, then unauthenticated users should be able to change the language that they see. |

Yes this is indeed the purpose and this is working with only one problem:
when I create a hyperlink to another in the Text/HTML Module, this hyperlink is rendered something like "/LinkClick.aspx?link=65&tabid=36"
How can I get the hyperlinks rendered like "Default.aspx?tabid=65"? Since this solves the problem...
Thanks in advance |

* With "Default.aspx?tabid=65", I meant "/Default.aspx?tabid=65", sorry for that. |

Can you go in and edit the links manually? |

I'll be at the OpenForce conference next week and will see if I can get some insight on this issue there. |

Yes, I can edit the links manually but it would be nicer if this isn't necessary... |
