a module that is in the skin code is a skin object. - If you do some searches on skin objects you may be able to find some info, basically they are modules in a skin.

Why don't you create a login page and add the module to the login page?

Create a new page, add the login module to it and the modules you require

Go to  Admin / site settings / advanced settings / page managemebnt / login page and select the new page you have created

BE CAREFUL with this, people tend to select  the wrong page and then can't log back in!!!! - I would suggest you test it on a localhost test environment before attempting on a live site.
