I've seen all data disapear 2 times, by clicking "update" in 4.4.1.:
On a local winXP/sql2005express, and on a server: win2003/sql2005express.
Any help/fixes?

Where do you click Update?

It appears in a Text/HTML-module, where i have 3 links: Update, Cancel and Preview

I've never seen this before. Is it possible that you've clicked the "Design" link in the control panel? If you are in Design mode, you won't see any module content.

The only thing I can think of is that you have spent a long time editing the content in the text / html module and DNN has logged you out, so when you click on update you are actually not logged in so DNN does not give you permission to update the content.

If you are spending a long time writing content, I recommend you either

• press update every so often
• select all of the content from the text / html module and copy it before clicking on update - so if you lose the content you can just paste it back in
• type all of your content into a word document first and then paste it in using the notepad paste function in the FCKEditor to strip out the html code the word creates

Thank you. That wsa my first guess, but how can that happen, while editing? The text was there, I go to edit, and after some time i klick update, seeing the text, and then the text (HTML-mode) is gone. I cant find it in the database either

If this happens to you again, you should try to click the browser's "back" button. That may return you a screen that includes your edited test. Select and copy it, refresh the editor window and you should be able to paste it back in. THen you can click update to save it.

I use the back button method if this ever happens to me. But you will need to use the Firefox browser, as Internet Explorer will not keep the data when you click on the back button.

The reason why you can be logged out while still editing is that the cookie which gives you logged in status has a time limit, so after a length of time you will find that you are logged out. You maybe unaware that you have become logged out because you are just editing the text and you're not trying to access any admin related features such as pages etc.

The best advice is to regularly press the update button.
