Hi,

I have just upgraded my website to DNN version 4.5.3.

It was a bit unstable at first with eroor messges on modules and it not allowing me into the admin / host options but it seems to just sort itself out over a 24hr period.

1 major problem i am left with is the URL's of my pages.

The upgrade has changed all the URL names.

On my original site the URL of a page was = http://www.parkingappeals.co.uk/AboutUs.aspx

Now the same page after the urgarde = http://www.parkingappeals.co.uk/AboutUs/tabid/110/Default.aspx

This has broken all my internal links and i have a lot and very worried.

Does anyone know how to quickly fix this ??

Hello,

It appears from the original url that you were using a 3rd party module to re-write the urls. - These modules usually store their settings in the web.config file. - I would suggest you check the original web.config file and see if there is a reference to a module which rewrites the urls. You will then need to transfer this code into your new 4.5.x web.config file.

Thanks for the reply. Yes you were right there was a 3rd party url exchanger.

I have reinstalled this and updated the web config file and has sorted out the urls but unfortunatley did not fix the links.

They still do not work.

I will need to go through the whole site i think and regenerate all the links.

Unless anyone nows a quicker solution ??

If the module has fixed the urls, why don't the links work?

Could you give an example of the differences between the 2?

It could be worth contacting the original developer to see if a later version has been released.

The only method for editing links that I know is: Find and Replace SQL queries for DotNetNuke

but I don't know if you will be able to adapt it to fix your links. - If you can provide the example links I may be able to help,
