I have a client with a Mac laptop.  I was showing her how to add content to a text/HTML module.  The site uses CSS containers that I've developed as per Lee's tutorials. 


• When selecting "Edit text," the controls for the rich text editor do not appear.  This is the text editor that came with 4.5.1.  I haven't installed the FCK Editor.

• The container titles have a dark green background with white text.  When editing the title, the edit box is white, not the background color thus making it difficult (to say the least) to see.


This doesn't happen in IE7, Firefox, or Opera. 

I don't have a Mac so I'm unable to test any of my sites in the Safari browser, so - and I know this is a long shot - does anyone know of any software out there that can emulate the Safari browser?   Never hurts to ask...

Beware the FCK Editor on the Safari browser! As it says on this page on the official FCK website (scroll to the bottom):

I didn't install the FCK Editor.  Is it part of the basic 4.5.1 installation package? 

At any rate...

After something that happened to me yesterday, I'm going to spend no more than 4.9% of my time worrying about Safari.  "4.9%" is the estimated share of the market by Safari.

I had asked above if anyone knew of software that could emulate the Mac browser "Safari."

Apple recently released Safari beta 3 for Windows and Mac.  I downloaded/installed it last night.

Sorry, I see that your original message said that you didn't use the FCK editor. It may be (I don't know) that the default editor also isn't compatible with Safari. And, yes, interesting timing with Apple's announcement.

To answer your other question, FCK isn't the default in 4.4.1 but it is the default editor in 4.5.x.
