I can't get my Google site map to work on 2 sites:

I have checked that In my DNN 4.5.3. site root I have the following files:

GoogleVerificationXXXX.html (as supplied by Google )

SiteMap.aspx

SiteMap.aspx.vp

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Google Webmaster  I have submitted the following:

http://www.MyWebsite.com

site map:  http://www.MyWebsite.com/SiteMap.aspx


---------------------------------------------------------------



My site alias matches my Google site submission above:

http://www.MyWebsite.com

-----------------------------------------------

However I keep getting this error:


Unsupported file format
Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit.

Prior to upgrading to 4.5.3, I had previously had both site submitted to Google via Bite The Bullet and they worked fine. So what am I doing wrong with DNN site map submission? Do I need to edit a file somewhere,  or change site settings, I can't find any specific DNN instructions .

Hi Lynn,

If you are going to use Sitemaps I highly recommend GSiteCrawler and Google Sitemaps MP3 interview

This allows you to easily filter out any pages that you don't want in the Sitemap such as terms / sort order links in forum, login / register links etc etc.  and you can assign the date created to each of the pages using metatags (all discussed in the interview above).

When I create a sitemap I create an xml file - so this maybe where the problem is - check out the help at Google and see what type of files they accept for their sitemaps.
