Hi,

I am using  DNN 4.5.2.
I have spent the last week learning flash and i've made myself a cool banner that i want to place on my site.
I've opened up the text/html module and hit the 'insert/edit flash' key to insert my flash (.swf) file.
I'm not sure what should happen now, but not a lot does happen!
I hit update and then in my site i just get a box with a square, circle, and triangle in the top left hand corner and NO FLASH BANNER.
I know that the .swf file works because it is on my desktop, and when i double click it, it opens up in a small window and playes the banner perfectly.
I am wondering if there is anything that i have to enable in DNN or am i just missing something really simple.

Anybody got any clues???

Should work exactly as you explained. I'm assuming that you also uploaded the file via the FCK editor?

I did the same thing last night on a site and it worked fine. On other option is to use a flash module which can be purchased or you can ask me real nice and I have one that was thrown together that you can use.

I did not upload the .swf file through the FCK editor. I FTP'ed it into a folder that i created called 'flash', then i just browsed for it through the FCK editor.

Maybe this is the problem, i will delete the .swf file and try and upload it through the FCK editor and see how that works.

If you do ever upload via FTP.. you need to go to the admin then file manager and "syncronize" the files. Same thing logged in a host or the FCK editor will not show some of the files. I ran into multiple issues because of the whole file sync thing.

Your a star, i thought i was going to go mad trying to sort this out but it was just a case of uploading through the FCK editior!!!
I will bear in mind the 'sync files' and i will try it later.
