I would like to know how I could possibly make a sign up page that charges a subscription fee for a newsletter.

I have a couple of things I would like to acheive.

1. Sign up to newsletters.
I have worked out a method to acheive this. 1. Create a user defined form with an element that assigns the user to that role.

2. I require another form that allows users to sign up to another newsletter, that we will be charging for. I understand that we could use the same method but I would like to know how to charge them for the ability to recieve the newsletter.

Is this something DNN can handle on its own or should i purchase another module that will handle this ?

This may help, or you may want to check out the subscription tools module by www.ventrian.com - that's the module that we are using on DNN creative.

Basically when a user makes a purchase you can give them a subscription role using these methods and then you can extract the users based on their subscription role.
