I followed the video to add an Accept Terms hyperlink on the registration page and it shows up. The Terms hyperlink is there, but when I click on it, it will not open the page. I can copy the shortcut from there and it will open in a new browser window, but it will not click to open. Same thing on another test site I use. What can I be doing wrong? DNN6.01 I can create hyperlinks in a module and they will work. Just the link on the registration page is not clickable. I simple don't get it. Thanks, Jerry |

Are you working from the "Enforcing Terms and Conditions on User Registration" tutorial? Can you copy and paste the text you added here? Can you provide a link to a site where this is happening? |

Yes, I am trying to enforce Terms and Conditions. Here is the entry that is in the Profile.ascx file: data name="ProfileProperties_AcceptTerms.Text"> value>You must accept the a href="http://trophyclubcondominiums.com/terms.aspx" target="_blank"span style="text-decoration: underline;"Terms span a of this site:value data Tags removed to allow for posting Here is the entry in the language editor that produced the above: You must accept the Terms of this site: Terms was hyperlinked in the editor.

Take a look at page source for the page with this rendered. See what the HTML actually is. That might give a clue as to why it is not working. |

I don't see anything. If I right click on the link and select open in new window or tab it works. Also, I thought it was I.E. so I loaded Opera. Same thing. Same action on my laptop, and PDA as well. Also, I can Control Click and it opens. I am going blind from looking at this problem. |

Could you View Page Source and cut out the code around the link? |

I don't know how to post it without the forum stripping out the code and formatting it. So, here is a txt file. Thanks.

Jerry, You have two closing a tags in the code fragment that you published. Make sure that the link has only one closing tag. I'm guessing that's the problem.

Joseph, First let me say many thanks for assisting me with this problem. I did not copy one of the beginning tags in the previous post. I went back and redid the text and link. I then rendered it in a text to html file and clicking on it works. It just does not click on my site. Text file attached with changed code. Jerry |

There is a closing a tag after "Terms" and there is another one after "of this site" and the span close. Could you copy at least 10 lines before and after this? |

Here is a slight reformatting of the important part of your page:
<div class="dnnFormItem">
<div id="dnn_ctr_ManageUsers_Profile_ProfileProperties_ctl07_AcceptTerms_Label" class="dnnTooltip">
<label for="dnn_ctr_ManageUsers_Profile_ProfileProperties_ctl07_AcceptTerms">
<a id="dnn_ctr_ManageUsers_Profile_ProfileProperties_ctl07_AcceptTerms_Label_cmdHelp"
tabindex="-1"
class="dnnFormHelp"
href="javascript:__doPostBack('dnn$ctr$ManageUsers$Profile$ProfileProperties$ctl07$AcceptTerms_Label_cmdHelp','')">
<span id="dnn_ctr_ManageUsers_Profile_ProfileProperties_ctl07_AcceptTerms_Label_label">
Accept the <a href="http://trophyclubcondominiums.com/terms.aspx">Terms</a> of this site.
</span>
</a>
</label>
<div id="dnn_ctr_ManageUsers_Profile_ProfileProperties_ctl07_AcceptTerms_Label_pnlHelp" class="dnnFormHelpContent dnnClear" style="display:none;">
<span id="dnn_ctr_ManageUsers_Profile_ProfileProperties_ctl07_AcceptTerms_Label_lblHelp">Accept the Terms of this site</span>
<a class="pinHelp" href="#"></a>
</div>
</div>
<input type="checkbox" name="dnn$ctr$ManageUsers$Profile$ProfileProperties$ctl07$AcceptTerms" />
<span id="dnn_ctr_ManageUsers_Profile_ProfileProperties_ctl07_AcceptTerms_Req" style="color:Red;display:none;">You must accept the Terms of this site</span>
</div>
I don't like the link inside of a link. I'm going to have to work through that example to see if there is something new that has entered later versions of DotNetNuke that prevent this from working. |
