I'm trying to add a new page template. I think I've created it correctly and I've added it to the same folder as the Default page template - but it's not showing up on my website in the drop down of page templates.

Any idea as to what the problem could be? Or is there another way to upload/add a page template besides simply adding it to the folder via ftp?

Forgot to mention that this is in DNN 6.

If you uploaded the template file using FTP, you will need to go to the File Manager and do a "recursive synchronization" of the files. If you can see the template in the File Manager, you'll be able to see it in the dropdown list.

I went to the File Manager and this error message is displayed:

Error: File Manager is currently unavailable. I'm wondering if you see the same error for the Host File Manager as well as the Admin File Manager.

Have you recently upgraded the site?

There is a Host setting that, when checked, will do the file synchronization. Check on the Host, Schedule page to see the frequency of this happening. You can change it if you need to.

It might also be a good time to look at the site's Event Log to see if there are other errors being logged.

what host setting is it? I cannot seem to find it.

"Auto-sync File System" is an Other setting on the Host Settings page.

That was checked where do I see the schedule? I see the options under scheduler but none of them look like the right one.

Does your Event Log contain more details on the error that prevents the File Manager from loadeing?

Do both the Host and Admin File Managers fail to load?
