Is there any way to setup DNN so that registered users will see one type of editor in the forums, while moderators will have another type of editor? I am thinking regular users should get a stripped down(simplified) editor while moderators can have all of the bells and whistles.

If you mean a different editor for different roles, I don't believe that's easy (or possible) to do.

If you want to adjust the toolbars, that is easy to do. We do have some tutorials. See "FCK Editor Custom Toolbars and Security Roles" for the FCK editor. Also look for "How to Configure the Telerik RAD Editor in DotNetNuke" and the ongoing series about the Telerik editor.

IF you are using the Telerik editor, we have a nice series of tutorials on configuring it. Patrick Renner also has a nice little blog post at http://www.patrickrenner.com/Home/a...-DNN.aspx. That one says that you can't have multiple configurations based on roles. But I'm still looking into this.

For Telerik: Install and use the DNN 5 RadEditor Provider (http://radeditor.codeplex.com/). You will have to download and install this into your DotNetNuke 5.x installation. This will become the standard editor provider in DotNetNuke 6.x.

According to the blurb on Codeplax, this editor provider gives you the "ability to have dedicated configurations per user role. You may have a configuration for hosts, admins, users and guests. Each of them may also be portal or tab specific."

Configuring the editor is also simplified in that there is a UI that is installed along with the provider. So, you go to a host page to do the configuring rather than editing obscure configuration files.

Yes, the DNNWerk provider is in DotNetNuke 6. The first official beta can be downloaded from DotNetNuke.com and you can play with it. Because it is a beta release it's not ready for actual use, but you can install it on a test site and see what is there.

No problem on the links. I actually did manually repair them immediately. Just letting you know in case its an editor issue.

As for the DNN 6 Beta, Ive been playing with it at testing it since the CTP. Beta 2 just came out and is looking good. Good things ahead.
