Installation DNN on Windows 7

Hi again.... my problem is still there. I want to install DNN with SQL Server 2008 express on Windows 7. When the installation runs then "Run Database Installation Scripts" the progress bar is moving, but he hangs at the beginning with Version 05.00.00. The strange thing is that the icons of DotNetNuke are not displayed. I tried the same procedure on a Windows 2008 Server and I had no problem at all. What can be the reason of my problem. What do I need to check? What do I need to install DNN? Thanks! Danny

I would suspect that the problem is with the SQL Server Express, but it's hard to say from a distance what the problem is. Triple check permissions and any other settings you can find. Are you able to run SQL to create tables and stored procedures if using SQL Server Management Studio? If some things are not showing up in DotNetNuke, again make sure that all files and directories have correct settings.

i agree. I would check file permissions. Make sure your app pool has full control, and the iis_iusr has read ,list folder contents, and read access. Not sure if you are using the DB as a file or if its attached to sql server, but if its attached, make sure the user in the webconfig has DB owner rights.

after installing ALL the windows updates, it went well. But I don't know which update did it? That a pitty! thanks for all your reactions. Danny
