In order to provide a corporate text bases "message of the day" on our intranet I thought I might use the Splash Page facility to achieve this.

However I need to set up to 8 different daily messages in advance only showing the message once to avoid annoying the users, but providing an archive for those sad enough to want to see past messages.

The Splash Page would ensure a single dedicated page with a simple message on it the first time the user autologs in via the NT Network

Thats the theory but in pratice it doesnt work.I have tried setting up pages to expire and new pages to publish at midnight but the Dnn Spash Page function dooesnt like it and there is no archive.

Can anyone suggest a solution or alternative method to achieve the same goal please or a module. I have looked extensively with no luck.

Ideally I need it to be a standalone page not an announcement module or similar within the main Homepage.

I can help feeling this is a simple problem but as the saying goes, "there is none so blind as those that will not see".

Make it a standalone page and use either the Announcements module or something like Ventrian's News Article module.

If you were to use News Article for instance, you could use the Latest Articles module with one article displayed to show the most recent published article. Using the Start Date for each article would make sure that today's article is visible.

Put the News Article archive on another page so that people can view all of them.
