Running performance of DNN

For my dnn site, now i need about 15-20 seconds to load the startup page. I know that keeping on ping the site may improve the performance. However, since the server is not hosted by me and i cannot perform such strategy. I am wondering what else i can do to keep the site live and running. Or other method to do it? any suggestions? Thank you

Use this free service for pinging your site: http://host-tracker.com/ just register and enter the URLs that you wish to track for uptime - set it to check every 10-15 mins, this will ping your site every 10-15 mins and will speed up the load time of your pages. - Plus the added benefit is that you get to see the uptime of your sites! Wow, great idea Lee. I just signed up. Did you use 'HEAD' as the checking method? I'm familiar with the POST and GET, but not 'HEAD'...
