The ControlPanel row stretches down when there is little content on the page. How can I make it dissapear when not loged in?

make sure you have the runat="server"

I have added height="10px" and then it never becomes bigger than that if emply and if I make it 1px it still seems to be 10px when empty.

You should not need to enter a height value, all you should need are the details that I listed. - Try it with just the line of code that I gave you and remove the extras such as the class of contentpane.

The control panel should conpletely disappear when you are not logged in as admin.

Sorry, I didn't read the line of code I gave you before writing, try this line of code:

<TD id="ControlPanel" runat="server"></TD>

Just to test if there are any clashes with elements such as the contentpane class etc.
