Hello everyone,
today i notice a bug on File Manager, it just don't work.
I'm logged in as Host, and i try to use the File Manager under Admin, i only can expand and collapse the folder tree,
i can't upload, see in the files in folder, it always shows the files in the root folder.
It used to work fine and i thing that all the settings are the same because i didn't change them.
I already recled the IIS Aplication Pool and the problem persists.
Somebody knows how can i solve this?
Thanks in advance.

Double check and make sure that the file permissions are set correctly in the File Manager. As Host, you should be able to see the files.

Hi Joseph Craig,
thanks for your answer.
But before i opened this post i already double checked the permissions.
Even with a host password the Admin's File Manager don't work.
It works in others Portals with the same/default permissions.
And the File Manager under the Host menu works fine.
It still don't work

Hello community,
i already solve this issue:
It was a module that i applied to all pages, somehow it creates conflits in the File Manager module.
I just deleted that module of the File Manager page and the FM start to working again.

Hi Guys,
I came across an odd issue with the File Manager module. I have a group of users (staff) who I've granted limited (non-Administrator) permissions so they can modify the HTML modules on the site. I now wanted to give them the ability to upload files to their respective portals, so they can create links to these documents.
To do this, followed the instructions in DNNC #14 for the File Manager
1) I added an instance of the File Manager module to a hidden utility page that then can access.
2) Selected an existing folder, called 'docs' and gave the group those users are in 'Write to Folder' permission for that one folder.
After restarting the Application and App pool, I logged in as one of those users, but all the folder management icons were greyed out. After toying around, I discovered, that I had to give that group "Edit Module" permissions for that instance of the File Manager. Once I did that, the logged in user could then access the Upload, Copy, Delete, etc. controls in File Manager for that specified folder.
The problem is that they were also given the ability to modify the "Folder Security Settings" for that designated folder. In theory they could give "All Users" Write permission to the 'docs' folder. Big security risk.
Turns out this is a known bug in DNN and hasn't yet been slated to be fixed.
I'm just wondering if anyone has figured out a work-around for this issue or can recommend a good 3rd party File Manager module (ideally one that also has ability to restrict uploading certain files, such as '.exe').
Thanks,
~Chris

The File Manager is really intended to be an administrative module. As you have seen, there are some limitations.
If the files to be uploaded are images, they should be able to upload using the Image tool in the editor. Have you tried that?
I have seen some third party modules that are really designed for users. Look on Snowcovered.
