Installing DNN on Shared Hosting

Hello all... Within the list of hosting providers I'm researching a few of them do not offer a "one click" type solution for installing DNN. One says they can do it for a fee, (which I'm not interested in paying), but the others indicated that I could do the installation myself. Since I'm looking at Shared Hosting I didn't think this was an option, but I've been assured that I could. I'm wanting to see if there is a tutorial, that I've overlooked, that covers this or is there documentation or a "How To" guide that someone could point me to? Thanks.. Bob

I REALLY like this: http://www.mikevdm.com/dnn The recent book by Chris Hammond and Patrick Renner is also a good book for beginners (and old timers). And, there are hosting companies that do a first rate job. One that I can recommend is PowerDNN. You get DotNetNuke installed when you sign up for their plan, and they will help you and reinstall, as needed, as you go along. Once you get up and running, I think that one of the first modules you should purchase is DNNAutoUpgrade from Papayas. It will do most (all?) of your work to keep your site upgraded and also includes an "emergency restore from scratch" feature.

I looked at the DNNAutoUpgrade and was told that will work in a Shared Hosting envirnoment so that would be a valualbe resource. I would like to go with PowerDNN, heard a lot of good things about them, however as a startup with limited resources, they don't offer a "reseller" package, you have to go with thier Dedicated Servers, starts around $280 per month. Anyway..Thanks for the info though... Bob
