Just installed some modules via FTP and the URL;

This works fine with one website in the installation, but what about multiple portal installations?

This web address http://www.bestgoldcoast.com

Actually lives in a portal;   /bestgoldcoast.com/wwwroot/Portals/44

And this gives me an error on install??


This is the Dynamic Registration Module, and our system is timing out on conventional installation.

Modules are installed in the DotNetNuke installation, not in portals. So, after you have installed a module in DotNetNuke, you can add instances into any or all of your portals as needed.

I thought using "http://www.bestgoldcoast.com" (The main site domain) would put it the site wwwroot?

The additional domains here are not DNN portals under..... Ahhh ("A light whent on?") Maybe I need to use the following domain; "bestgoldcoast.com.temp.realssl.com" ??

(Can't attach image here, maybe if I go and edit my original post?)

Might not make any sense - so I'll go testing again.

As long as you install a module using the FTP method here: How to install a Module in DotNetNuke 5 the module will be available to use in all of the portals within your DNN installation.

Not quite sure what you mean, Olle.  Can you rephrase the question?

Lee, I did the FTP install and it fails on this particular site.

(The whole setup here are a "stuff up" on my part, not installing the domains / sites individually, but adding on each other and just using pointers on the domain.)
FTP upload works fine on proper installations.

Will eventually have to find the time to move the sites to individual websites.


Joe - not sure I understand either

In the middle of typing I thought I could install in the "Original Website Root" or something, but I checked and it doesn't have any folder system.



Guess I have to sort out the mess.....
