I have DNN set up so that when a user logs in there is a page in the menu that only that user can view. The problem I have is that all of the pages are in the menu panel when logged in as Admin or Host. Is there a way to make only the host and admin menu items viewable when logged in as admin? If I uncheck the 'add to menu' in page settings then the page is not viewable but the user so that does not help. I know this must be an option because if your site grows to many many pages having them in the admin menu panel would not be manageable. I am just missing something. Any help would be most appreciated.

I'm not aware of a way to do that.
But ... I understand that the Host and Admin menus will be "deprecated" in some future release of DotNetNuke and the Host and Admin settings will be available only through the Host and Admin links on the Control Panel.

So if you have 100 pages in your dnn site they will all be listed in the menu bar? That doesn't seem to make sense.

Only those pages that you want to appear on the menu will appear. That is what the check box option is for.
Part of your design for a web site should include the page heirarchy, what appears in the menus, and any scheme for navigating to pages that are not in the menu structure.

I understsand that, I guess I have a bit of an uncommon problem where I cannot uncheck the 'view in menu' option. I was hoping there was an alternative way to do this. Maybe with all of the user pages located under a main user page, then all the user pages would not be shown unless you moused over the menu item. That way I could keep them viewable in the menu. I will post back the results of my test. Thanks for you input. I appreciate it.

Are you trying to create a separate page for each user?
The social networking modules that I have used create only one page, but build the page contents dynamically based on the user. That might be a more workable approach, not to mention ease of maintenance, etc. You could then have a "My Profile" page. It would display the profile or other information of the logged in user only.

Problem solved
I was able to create private user pages that were only visable to the specific user when they are logged in. I placed all these user pages under a main page. When the user selects this page only the link to their page is available. When logged in as admin only the main page is visable on the menu until you mouseover it and then all the pages are viewable. Now...just need a module where I can upload files and tag them for individual users and make them available from their private page.
