Hello all,

Currently I'm faced with 2 problems to which I can't seem to solve even with hours of googling!

1. Change the text after someones registers and it confirms an e-mail has been sent to them. I'm sure this one i'm being blind on and i'm overlooking it somewhere in the Language Editor.

2. A rather more complex problem I believe but I need to disable the ability to alter a users email address when they are logged in. Bit of an odd one I know but basically we had a third party script on the site and they use a MySQL DB and when the user changes their e-mail address in DNN it doesn't update in the MySQL (very bad I know ;-/). For now we'd just like to stop users changing their e-mail address almost as a stop gap so to say.

On a side note, this whole ManageUsers.ascx is a real pain I find, trying to dig through all of it and find controls etc just mind numbing are there any good methods of editing these controls that are on this .ascx file?

1. Go to Admin Menu / Languages
This defaults to the Global Resources View in DNN5
Press Ctrl + F - enter 'Registration'
You will be able to search through the various emails that are sent

2. Not sure, if you want to look at more complex registration options, have a look at DataSprings Dynamic Registration.

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear enough, the text I need to change is the one you see right after you click registration and the page changes to show a message like:

"An e-mail, with a special link,has been sent to your e-mail address you must click on this link to complete registration by logging in to the system."

This is the text I need to change not the text in the emails that get sent out.

Also on the note of #2 I just want to disable the edit box for the email address when they are editing their profile details.

Those messages are in the Shared Resources file in the same location as mentioned above, search for:

VerifiedConfirmationMessage.Text
