DNN Version: 5.1.02
Situation: In the HTML module, click on flash / image to upload a file through the DNN application. Works fine sometimes.. but then goes through spurts of errors. Ends up reloading the pop-up window in an iframe type environment witih the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
Attached a screen shot...
1. clicked on image/flash icon... little file upload manager pops up. 2. clicked browse.. 3. Attached file.. 4. Upload file..
Then the result is like the attached screen shot.
Really weird.
Anyone have suggestions? I can utilize FTP but.. still this error needs to go away.
Thank you,
Patrick
Update: Editing my post... Just got the same error when uploading a small .jpg file. This doesn't make any sense... really frustrating.

Where in the HTML module are you clicking? Is this code that you have added? More details regarding the error will be in the Event Log, which is accessible from the Admin menu. |

It's interesting.. and frustrating.
Just take your standard HTML module. Click on "Edit Content" then Click on the image or flash upload... browse, attach and upload new file.. and it produces the error that I attached in the original post. But it doesn't do it all the time..

The error message says that there is a permissions problem of some sort. So ... keep looking.
Did you reset the permissions as Lee suggested?

Very strange. Thank you all very much for taking the time to help. The permissions were correct. Apparently something flagged Parallels and permissions were reset for security purposes on the server-end. If you guys aren't horribly tired of me yet... I have two more errors.. on another website that you might possibly be able to help with. I've seen this reproduced many times across the forums, but cannot find an answer to it. Error #1 Simple repository module, during upload... no files attached. Periodically gives the Dotnetnuke error page showing the red-error.gif, and return to site button. As you can see there's an email name there... that I've commented out. but there is a real, working email address there.. This error repeated for EVERY email address.. (approx 25) that we mailed out to.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.

For the first one, it seems to be an issue with "viewstate." You might want to look in the eventlog and see if, somehow, your website got restarted during the transaction. That could invalidate the viewstate.
For the second one, it's an email address problem. Either one of the recipients or the from address is not valid.
