I'm building a site that has lots of common content items across various pages.  Things like feature boxes and lists of links.  I can build these into the skins but the problem is that my client, who is non technical, needs to be able to edit them from one place.

For example; what do you do when you have a site, with 60 pages, 40 of them with the same list of 15 links in the bottom pane?  The client does not want to have to edit all 40 pages individually, everytime he needs to add a new link.

I'm stuck at the moment but I'm guessing there's an approach to take.  I've probably built over a 100 websites and virtually every one of them has common content items like this, in the left column, in the banner position etc...

Bit of a newbie to DotNetNuke.  Any help would be appreciated.

Did you know that you can display the same module on multiple pages? You do this by adding an existing module to a page, rather than adding a new module.

So ... if you take that list of links, you can place it on all 40 of those pages. It can be edited from any page, and the changes will appear on all of them.

You can also configure a single module to appear on every page. That choice is under the module's settings.

I've also noticed that you can copy modules when you create pages or copy a reference of a module.  So I could have a master page with the relevant modules referenced from it.

Your method sounds better, though and mine might get messy if the content gets fragmented all over the place.

I use the 'add existing module' method. I create a page named 'shadows' which is only available to view by the administrators.

On this page are place all of the modules with content that I wish to replicate around the website.

When I am working on a new page and need to add some content, I use the ' add an existing module' option and select the shadows page, from there it is easy to select which module to add to the page.

If you then need to make edits to the content, you can just edit the content of the module on the shadows page and this will be replicated on all of the modules that you have placed in your pages using the 'add existing module' method.
