I have a DNN 4.9.1 installation... actually I have several.

Whenever I've logged in as HOST, there has always been a green icon in the Control Panel indicating that an update was available.

Today it is a red icon stating "Critical Updates Available."

However, when I click the icon - which takes me to the DNN site - I don't see anything of a "critical" nature.

Can anyone tell me what is the critical nature of the not-so-apparent update?

If you look at the release notes, you'll see that there are two security issues that have been labelled as "critical."

The aforementioned red icon link takes me to the download page at DNN. The only thing in there using the word "critical" or "update" is a plug for their professional edition.

Pardon me for being dense but where do you see this? I've searched the site for 'critical updates' and 'release notes' - individually and together - and get a lot of stuff that is at least two years old.

OK... I ultimately found it through doing a search in their forum, which is a little like trying to sprint through mud [laugh].

Yes, you found the answer.  "Critical" refers to security issues.  Generally, security fixes are rated in three categories with "critical" being the most serious.
