Problem upgrading 4.9.4 to 5.1.1

Hello, i m in little bit trouble here. I had a 4.9.4 DNN installation and thought to upgrade to 5.1.1. But something got wrong. I can acces my site but meantime on one portal (within the same installation) the links in Control Panel work fine, on another it doesnt. Any idea why and what can be done? I tried to change the skin, but no result! thanks

Did you have SSL enabled before the upgrade?

thanks for reply no , i havent. im running my dnn installation on 1and1 servers. if thats for any help

Did you re-enable the required read / write permissions on all of the DotNetNuke files?

yes I agree it's weird! - So do you have a dedicated server with 1and1 because years ago i approached them for DNN sites and they wouldn't give me the permissions that DNN needed on a shared hosting package. I would reset permissions again, just to make sure, sometimes a folder can get missed or not correctly set.

Maybe has something to do with the fact that, from what ive heard, 1and1 doesnt provide ajax support

it could be a problem with the setup at 1and1, but it is odd that a portal works when another one doesn't. Does anyone else have any suggestions of elements that could be tested to see if it is a problem with the hosting provider?
