Using either core forums or Active Forums.

In addition to showing all forums on the forums page I would like to show individual forums on the DNN page that is specific to that subject. I haven't dug into this full force yet but so far the only solution I see is to include an iframe module on the subject page targeted to the individual forum on the forums page.

Am I missing something?

If you purchase Active Forums, there is a Forum Viewer module that lets you specify one or more forums to show on a particular page.

If you are considering the purchase of Active Forums, I recommend taking a look at Active Social, which also includes Active Forums.  Active Social lets you set up "groups" and each group can have one or more attached forums.

Yes, I've heard good things about Active Social. I'm curious Joe, did you own Active Social before Will bought it? Can't remember what it was called back then.

The Forum Viewer just displays selected forums on a page.  All of the read/write privileges come with the forum.  No problem at all.

Active Modules purchased (if I remember correctly) My Profile a couple of years ago, and then marketed it as Active Profile (again, if I remember correctly).  But, Active Social is a product that was developed "from the ground up" and probably doesn't depend very much on that old code.

I've also used the Smart-Thinker modules, now called Smart Social.  I liked them, but I think that Active Social has a much brighter future.  Integration with Active Forums, and the capability to integrate with other modules are great features.
