 I have created a new page and included 2 modules Module1 in left pane and Module2 in content pane. When page gets loaded I expect the code behind of Module1 to execute first and then code behind for Module2. But at present it happens in reverse order. Can any body though light about why it happens and now to change this behaviour.

I've never looked at that before, but I don't think that you can rely on a specific order for loading modules. I presume that the order depends on the loading order. That might be the order in which DotNetNuke "finds" the modules.

If you need one module to have its code executed before another's, you might need to use InterModule Communication to facilitate that. It's probably worth asking for help on the developer forums at DotNetNuke.com.

Hi, Yes I agree we should not rely on execution order. But when I have a list of links in "Module1" and want to change the content of "Module2" based on the selection from "Module1" what would be the best approach. And the content of "Module1" is not going to change but content of "Module2" need to change based on the selection in "Module1".

And what is InterModule Communication? and how to do it?

Intermodule Communication is a capability provided by DotNetNuke.  You can read about it in the Module Developer's Guide available from DotNetNuke.com or adefwebserver.com.

The Aggregator Module from DNNStuff also allows you to link two modules as you describe.  That approach doesn't require coding.

Exactly.  Inter-module communication is what you want to use.  It's fairly easy to set up.  The reason why modules aren't displayed in the order you've placed them on the page is that the way they're stored and traversed in the page load of the dnn default.aspx has nothing to do with *when* they were added to a page.
