I would like to automate the creation of a new user in my DNN site.  Basically we have a CRM tool that has an API that we can leverage.  I would like to be able to add a flag in our CRM for a given customer that should have rights to the DNN site.  Then a script would run on my DNN server that would query the CRM database for this flag, and if it exists, use the Customer ID in the CRM as the DNN UserID for the new user it creates. 

So, I have already figured out how to do everything mentioned above, except for adding the new user in DNN.

I saw an article out there that tells you how to add a new user, but you have to use a password that you already know since the passwords are encrypted in DNN.  I really do not want to send out the same default password to all my users.

I can't imagine I am the first person who wanted to do something like this.  I have a feeling there is a way to either levarage the user creation scripts built in to DNN, or to create users directly in the DNN database.

Has anyone done this successfully, or is there another approach anyone could suggest?  The key is this needs to be automated based on info I pull from my remote system (my CRM).

If you look here, you'll find some code written by John Mitchell of Snapsis that shows how to create users.  You should be able adapt this to your purposes.
