I created a module that will open a new window to show details of an item.  Now my only problem is getting that new window to open without a skin around it.

Im using NavigateURL to generate the URL, and when the window opens I get the admin skin around my content.  I want no skin, no container, etc.........just the content (and maybe a header image but that will be part of the content itself).

Im sure it can be done, I just dont know how

You can always create a skin that has no decoration, just a Content Pane. Specify that empty skin for the page you want to pop up, and put the module on the page.

To create the blank skin, just take an existing skin, and remove everything but the Content Pane.

I wasnt exactly sure how to "put the module on the page".......the way Im generating the link is via the NavigateURL function, pointing at the Details control of the module. How would I open a page and then have the page add the control? it seems like a catch22, dynamically generating a page but having to add a module without knowing what the page is named.

For now I got it working via the SkinSRC querystring param, but it just doesnt seem like the best way to accomplish it.

You might also want to look for modules that allow you to popup content from within a page.  LiveContent from Mandeeps.com is one.  Search Snowcovered for others.

I need big help related to popup window. I have navigateurl in my custom module which is on ONCLICK event. When user press a buttion it will open item details with a popup window. Data wise i don't have issue. The issue is parent window is completely aligned left side and there is break in the content pane. I am using the defaul DNN 4.8 Skin. Here is the syntex i am using.

You might want to ask your question on the DotNetNuke forums.  There are more developers there.  ALso, check adefwebserver.com for lots of module development help.  There is a tutorial there for navigation options in custom modules.
