I was about to add a new page in DNN 5.0 and the below error occured.

May I know what has happened?

It would appear that something is wrong with the event log.

If this is a new or relatively new installation of 5.0.0, AND if you haven't don't a lot to the site, then you might want to reinstall. If you do, use the new 5.0.1 package.

If you have data that you don't want to lose, I'd recommend that you try upgrading to 5.0.1.

Before you do either of those, though, you might want to reboot your webserver if you can do that. If not, visit the Host Settings page and click the "Restart" link.

Yup, I have not done much to the site, but just wondering if I could remove V5.0 if i install 5.1?

If you just plan to reinstall, delete the web directory and delete the database.  Create a new database, and use the 5.0.1 install package.

the same problem i faced in my dnn website. but my site was totally build now it was showing this message some times. now i cannot reinstall the ddn version. so please let me know any other solution.

You should be able to update an existing DotNetNuke installation. 

Which version are you using?

i am using version 5.0.0 ...

if i reinstall i think the data will be lost right...

I believe that this was a problem in version 5.0, but that it doesn't cause any problems.  You should be able to UPGRADE to the current version without any issues.

Make backups.

If you made a backup before upgrading to 5.0, you might want to restore the backup and then upgrade to 5.1.4.

When i try to upgrade from version 4.7.0 - 5.6.2

That's probably too big a step.

Based on my experience, if you can get to 4.9.5, you might be able to go directly to 5.6.2 from there.

Try going from 4.7.0 to 4.9.5.

Be sure to make backups at every step so you can go back if you need to. Also, test at each step. It is likely that you will also need to upgrade modules as you go along.
