I am using the Setup Prearations for Skinning - Part 4 tutorial and it says:

It is always useful to refer back to the original standard skins that come with DotNetNuke®, so let’s copy a skin into our new folders.

• Download the latest Install version of DotNetNuke
• Unzip the Install folder
• Open the Portals folder
• Open the _default folder
• Open the Skins folder
• Copy the DNN-Blue folder
• Paste the DNN-Blue folder inside the VortexMusic/Skin folder
• We can now edit / refer to the default DNN Blue skin
• Add the VortexMusic folder as a website to your WYSIWYG Editor

    However the available downloads don't include the DNN - Blue folder. It seems that the tutorial is out of date.

I have been having significant problems with the DNN documentation, and therefore decided to pay for some quality tutorials. I hope this isn't an indication of the overall quality of DnnCreative.

If you would like to use the DNN-Blue skin from previous versions of DotNetNuke, you can download it from here - it will be compatible with the latest versions of DotNetNuke: http://codeplex.com/dnnskins

I believe that the next issue of DNNCreative will begin to discuss recent changes to the DotNetNuke skinning process introduced in Version 5.0.0.

Stick with us, the old tutorials about skinning are accurate, and can be used with Version 5.0.0, but there are substantial (and improved) changes to DotNetNuke skinning.  You'll learn about them over the next issues, I'm sure.

It won't be the next issue of DNN Creative when we look at skinning as I am waiting until DNN 5 is released as 'stable' otherwise when the tutorial is released they may make further modifications as they release the next stabalization releases.

As Joe says though, all of the techniques apply, it is just that the tutorial refers to the old DNN Blue skin.
