Is it possible to redirect the user to a welcome page immediately after registration?

I have made a welcome page which is just visable for registred user. And set in Admin/Portalsettings the welcome page as welcome page, but  after hiting the url the browser jumps directly to the login page. Is there any other place to do that?

There are a couple of developers that offer tools allowing you to create a custom registration module that could include a redirect to a particular page. Onyaktech has a product called H20 that allows you to build such a form and provides some documentation on how to use the tool to do a sample project like that. I will say that the documentation is lacking for detail step by step instruction, but each process build on prior examples and general experience. Not for the novice, but you don't have to be hardcore to get it to work either.

Look for the User Settings page. It is under the User Accounts page. There you will find that there are three pages that you can configure:

Redirect After Login:
Redirect After Logout:
Redirect After Registration:

I have always been interested in the ability to redirect based on a security role. I think this would be a very useful ability. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this (which I was referring to above).

Datasprings' Dynamic Registration will do this for you.  It will also assign security roles during registration so that redirecting based on a role is possible.
