I am trying the Greenery Skin mentioned here:

I got it to work except for a splash screen. I created a splash page and added  it using the Advanced Settings of the Site Settings. It works fine except that when I click "Home" on the menu, I am taken to the splash page instead of home. In other words, clicking "Home" takes me to "http://www.mysite.com" instead of the home page at "http://www.mysite.com/Home/Tabid/36/default.aspx". I have done some searching and tried various things but I can't get it to work.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

ok, I just tested this and have it working okay in v4.9.0

Just double check the settings: -

go to the admin menu/site settings

Advanced settings/page management

select the page you require for the splash page
for the home page, rather than leaving it as the default 'none specified' - select the page you wish to use as the home page

You said . This is the default and the way I had it set and it wasn't working; however, I swapped your statement around so the home page setting is 'none specified' now and that works perfectly!

I just discovered another problem and I thought I would mention it here in case someone else had the same problem.

If I log in to my site and visit a a page visible only to registered users, then log out, I am taken back to the splash screen instead of home. It turns out that this is also very easy to fix. Go to the Admin - User Accounts and set "Redirect after logout" to Home.
