Hi, i built a skin using the videos and installed it thorugh the web interface (FTP interface didn't seem to work).
When i try to preview the skin, i get this error:

I'm new to ASP .NET (but not to ASP) and i don't know if that's a skin error or a server error.

Hello,

I would re-watch the video on packaging the skin as this might be the problem. The most common problem is zipping all of the files inside a folder.

You need to ensure when you open the zip file that it contains just the skin files and not a folder which contains the zip files.

I zipped only the skin.htm file as instructed, and added some jpeg files. i made a very basic skin that looked like this:

[SOLPARTMENU]

news currency content menu

[LINKS] [TERMS] compass-rights

[COPYRIGHT]

maybe you can tell me what's wrong.
BTW, i wasn't able to install the files thorugh FTP - I added them to my remote (using FTP) and went to the install page thprugh my portal, alias because i'm not the host (but i can log the host account as host). The skin didn't appear in my skin options. Might this be the problem for both problems/errors? I did the WEB installation, which went fine, through my portal account (not the host). but when trying to preview it got this error.

Sorry but it didn't print the code but use it.. if you insist you can check the source of this page..

It sounds as though the skin has not installed correctly. Have you installed any skins to your portal before? If not, I would do a test with a free skin and see if you can install it and get it working. If you can you know there must be a problem with your skin.

Another thing to check in your skin is that there is a contentpane, DNN needs a contentpane to add the modules to the page.

Hi Lee,
I have created several skins using the skinning video instructions; at first all was fine expect getting the graphic to show up correctly and other user related issues.
Now all the skins I created when applied to test page gives “Unhandled error loading module” not sure why. I restarted my application pool from within my virtual directory but nothing is resolving this issue.
Can I email you my files?

You might also want to take a look in the EventLog to see if there is more detail there.  If you can login as host, you'll see additional details on the page.
