5:52am??  Lee, you must be a morning person [laugh].

So if I understand you correctly - although these aren't your exact words -  I installed a module that was actually designed to work in 4.5 ... and my 4.4.1 setup doesn't know what to do with it. 

After all, it's dead in the water.  I get the compilation errors every time I try to run DNN on my localhost.

Well, he sighed philosophically, this is the reason I have a local setup of DNN... so I can make mistakes on it rather than a live site (take note, boys and girls) [laugh].

I don't have anything worth saving in any of my test portals.  So now the question becomes: is it worth trying to fix this or should I just do a fresh installation of 4.5?

I comletely removed the old 4.4.1 installation and attempted to do a fresh install of 4.5.1.  I got this:
