Hi,
New to this forum and I'm hoping someone might have an idea what I need to do.
I had a server crash a couple of weeks ago and had to restore my DNN 4.5 from backup, including the SQL DB.  At first appearance, everything was working fine.  But in the past few days we've realized that we cannot make any changes.  Cannot add or delete pages or modules, or edit any existing module.  When you make changes, they seem to update, but just don't happen.  The Event Viewer logs that the change happened, ie. "Module sent to recycle bin", but it is still on the page.  I've checked the Web.Config for the correct Connection strings, and it all looks spot on.  I've also verified the user and password for the DB and that too is in order.
I've also tried this with various accounts from Host on down with no success.  I tried extracting the files on top of the existing install, and tried the upgrade files.  Both result in errors and I have to go back to previous stuff.
I've been running DNN for about three years now as the web site for our school system.  Never ran into anything this strange.  Fortunately, teachers and students are out on summer break, but that ends next week.
It's DNN 4.5.5, running on Windows Server 2003, MS SQL 2000 on the local host.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

This is a new on one me. Can you use the SQL page under host settings to look into the database? You might want to see if you can use some SQL queries to verify that changes are actually in the database.

The only other thing that I can think is that you've got some caching that's staying in place. Can you clear the cache (under Host Settings) and restart the application?

Can you give more details about the erros that occurred when you tried upgrading?
