Is it possible to create a folder in a portal and allow users to access it directly?

For example, I like users to go into a folder to access a particular static page.

When I created this folder in my portal and create this page, to access it will give me an error with HTTP Error 404. In the file manager, I allowed all users to view and write to this folder.  Is there any options I need to set up?

I am using DNNMasters SEO module.  I tried using the redirect method to redirect people to this page.  However, it doesn't work.

Thanks,

Cliff

I'm not quite sure what you want to do. DotNetNuke doesn't really use the concept of separate pages, stored in folders.

Perhaps if you describe what you want to do, and why, then this will be clearer.

Hi Joe,

I am transferring my client's website (static html pages) to a DNN instance. In her old website, there is a link (http://www.fullnessoflife.ca/weddingbells). This link is printed on her ads and it is use to promote a workshop. I would like to set up the same URl in a DNN instance and redirect this link to a DNN webpage.

How should I go about doing that? I tried setting up a folder, weddingbells, in the portal. However, I get permission errors.

Thanks,
Cliff

I did the following in my test site, mytestsite.com:

  • I created a folder named test in the DotNetNuke root directory.
  • I created a file mypage.htm in the test directory
  • I browsed to mytestsite.com/test/mypage.htm
I worked just fine ...
