Is there a way to assign User Level Security to a page.  I have a portal with about 500 users.  I would like to give each of them content editor rights on their own page and only there page.

I don't want to create 500 security roles....
I am sure alot of people need to do this....

Thanks for your help!

You can assign edit permissions to pages by username. You'll need to have a "recent" version of DotNetNuke to do it. You set the permission to a page from Settings in the Control Panel.

Hi there, is there a way to do this automatically? ie: have the username populate the field on that page if the user created that page (instead of an admin having to go into each page and specify the username).

I need to create a page that gives a user full edit rights and also subpages. These pages will be pre-set (based on a template so the users don't need to add any modules, just to fill out the require info)

The main page will be a sort of profile page of the user and then they can create one or more subpage that has a link back to the main page. So something like ...

Main profile page (based on template, user who created it automatically assigned edit rights)

On main profile page:

Here are my recipes:

- recipe1
- recipe2

Each recipe will be another page, similar to main page (based on template, with full edit rights by user who created it). A user may have zero, one or more recipe/link page(s).

Is there easy way to do this? Would I need to use xmod or some other module? .. I've just started looking into ways to do this. Thanks for any help.

You might be able to figure out a way to script this, provided that there is some way of knowing which username goes with which page. Take a look at the SQL stuff in last month's issue to see if that provides any inspiration.
