I just upgraded from DNN 6.2.7 to 7.1.0 and the file manager is now empty. The files are still there. I can see them with my FTP program and I can still see the records in the Files table too. It's just the new file manager that does not want to show them to me. The left site has only a root folder icon and does not expand when clicked and the right side has stacked check boxes as if there were file names in a list next to them, however there are no file names showing. Here is a screenshot: http://postimg.org/image/d16te4yh3/ Things I have tried: -changed the skin and container -changed all my folder names to lower case in the folders table. -Reviewed all folder names for bad characters -reviewed all file names for illegal characters. I did correct a few file names. -Clicking the sync button does nothing. Nothing has worked. I'm looking for some new ideas. I have backups. Version 6.2.7 worked fine I could fall back but I prefer to figure it out. Thanks. Mark Buelsing |

Now have a second DNN installation with the same situation. Just upgraded to 7.1.0 and the new file manager is empty. The work around I have is to add the "File Manager" module to the page and use it instead of the new Digital Asset Management module that is on the page already. |

This does appear to be a bug, and I'm researching it. |

Joe, turns out this is a bug. And it hits if you have DNN 7.1.0 and you have pop-ups turned off. Turn the pop-ups back on and the file manager works again. Here is the link to the bug report. http://support.dnnsoftware.com/proj...item/27587 Thanks for your help Joe! |

For me, the enable popups thing did not work. There is another solution as the old File Manager is still installed. You can add that to the page and remove the new module. Do that for both Admin and Host pages. |

There are two other things that I have been interacting with during this time that may have influenced my positive results. Maybe you want to try these also. One tedious and one easy. Make a database backup first. 1. The tedious one is that I went through all the records for the portal in question in both the files and folders tables and I removed any record that had questionable characters in the file or folder name. I also found about 5 or so records in each table that had no value in the field name or folder name field. I removed them also. Take care in the folders table. There is one record that has an empty folder name that represents the root folder. It has the value in the protected column = -1. Don't delete that one. You need to recycle the app pool and refresh the new File Manager page to know if your deletions make a difference. 2. The easy thing was to go to the host settings, advanced, JQuery and put a check in the box to use the hosted JQuery for version: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/lib...ry.min.js. Which I think runs the previous version of JQuery instead of the new 1.9 version that DNN7.1.0 just moved up to. OR You could simply wait for DNN 7.1.1, since this issue is supposed to be fixed in that version. Like you said, the old File Manager works fine. |

Hello, I have a new install of 7.1.2 and no one of suggested solution works... I used 1.7.2 jquery version, I enabled popups... |

I also have upgraded sites past DNN 7.1.0 and still have an empty file manager. My workaround is still employed. Install the old File Manager. |

Is this a File Manager that shows no files, or a File Manager page with no file manager module on it? Can either of you point me to a site where I can see this? |

Re jQuery vs. hosted jQuery ... There have been issues in the past when the hosted version of jQuery was updated to a new version that was not compatible with DNN. I'm leery of using hosted jQuery for just that reason. |

Posted By Joseph Craig on 2013-10-03 08:26 AM Is this a File Manager that shows no files, or a File Manager page with no file manager module on it? Can either of you point me to a site where I can see this? It's a filemanager that shows empty file names (I have two pages but each row is empty). It is 100% a js error, in IE debug I see these: row 1: sys not defined row 478: sys not defined row 4080: sys not defined row 4: $find not defined row 1022: unable to retrieve init property row 17: object does not support endsWith property row 1294: telerik not defined row 1332: sys not defined row 941: unable to retrieve setCookie row 1: unable to retrieve attachEvent I prefer to send username and pwd via mail, can you give me your email address? Thanks |

Guys, I solved. But it have no sense. I installed 7.1.1 in my localhost. It worked. I upgraded to 7.1.2. It worked. So I compared the differences between localhost and server host settings. In server I had Show Copyrights: disabled and, in client resource management, Current Host Version 19. In localhost I had show copyright: enabled and, in client resource management, current host version 35. I increased current host version in server instance, enabled copyrights and filemanager works. I suppose that the modify that makes filemanager to work is client resource management, but what is the reason??? |
