Hi
I recently started using DNN for my programming needs (I have been programming in ASP for the last 10 years or so). I'm presently having issues with registration. Presently the default is to "Register", I would like to change the word "Register" to "Sign Up".
This sounds like such a simple thing, but I have yet to make it happen. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It is fairly simple. You need to use the Language Editor. The trick is finding the text string that needs changing.
In this case, look under Local Resources, Admin, Authentication, App_LocalResources, Login.ascx

Hi
Thanks for the prompt reply!
I went into the editor to make the changes to the
cmdRegister.Text using
host, system and admin mode but it doesn't seems to work. Basically I changed "Register" to "Sign Up". I even restarted IIS. Is there something else that needs to be done to make it take effect? Or did I just changed the wrong parameter?
Thanks for any information!

My instructions are correct for DotNetNuke version 04.09.00. They change "Register" to "Sign Up" in the Login module.
Do you want to change to wording somewhere else? Like the skin object that says "Register" when you aren't logged in and says "Logout" when you are? If so, that is the [USER] skin object. It has an attribute named "Text" which has a default value of "Register." You would change this text in the skin.xml file by adding the attribute and value for the USER token. You can similarly change the LOGIN skin object. You can also change the CSS classes that style these objects.
If you want to change the text somewhere else, point me in the right direction!

The DNN version is 04.09.00, so what I did should work. Basically, I just want to change the <dnn:USER runat="server" id="dnnUSER" /> control to say "SIGN UP" instead of "REGISTER". I made the changes using the language editor as suggested earlier, but somehow the change is not effected.
Is there something else I need to do to get it to work?

Where do you want the text to change. If you are referring to the skin object, you'll have to edit the xml file for the skin to change the default text.
If you want it to change in the Login module, the change that I gave you will work for 4.9.0. If you are using a different version of DotNetNuke, you'll have to find the correct string in the language editor.
