I am trying to build a custom html module for my footer. I need to inset a background image. I know I have to edit the skin to do this. How How do I upload the image to the server and discover the long url in order to get the css right? Doing the build in Dreamweaver, here is the css I have so far.
#newFooter {
background-image: url(../../../../../My%20Websites/Ideas/NewFooterBG.png);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: bottom;
}
Thanks for any help you can offer. Marion L.

OK............ I am starting to get an idea on how to so this.
1. I got the new footer BG image uploaded to the right folder, just did not put it anywhere at the moment.
2. I discovered the path that the other images in the footer have by using the Firefox Web Developer toolbar/images/image information.
3. I will write the new path just dropping in my BG image name as it is in the same folder as the others.
4. Add the css at Site/Stylesheeet Editor.
Not now however, I am getting ready for church. Marion L.

It looks like you are on the right track. Please ask if you need more help.
FYI, the path for the image is likely to be something like /Portals/N/folder/filename, where N is the PortalId.
When you use the Stylesheet Editor, you are editing the portal.css file.

ok........... something is not working here.
I put a div around my footer content with a unique id like this.....
all footer content here
Then added the css like this..........
#newFooter {
background-image: url(http://www.mailhandling.com/Portals/0/Footer/NewFooterBG.png);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: bottom;
}
No image is showing up on my page. Can you help me figure out what is wrong?

Hmmm. I can see the background image ... so you must have fixed it. This should also work if you take the "
http://www.mailhandling.com
" out of the URL. Relative links are always better than absolute links.
I'd probably also set the visibility control on the module to none because you don't need to collapse it.
