I use multiple desktop scheduling tools that allow me to schedule things, E.g. on the third Tuesday of the month or the First Monday.  The Events module seems to be limited to selecting a specific day, as in the 3rd day of the month.

Is there a workaround?  Is there a commercial events scheduler that replaces the core....OR did I just miss something in the configuration of this module?

Your help is appreciated.

Since my original post I found an article on the DotNetNuke forums site that seems to imply a new version of this module. I looked for documentation that would suggest a "migration plan" from the previous to the newest version, but I didn't see any. My fear is that when I delete the old version, all of my dates will be gone with that old version (I realize that the database content shouldn't go away, but I would like to see that written somewhere).

Yes I would be very careful if you are doing any upgrades to the module / changes etc. Make sure you test it out in a localhost test area first to ensure you do not lose any data. - Generally when you delete a module it cleans up the SQL database and deletes all of its associated tables and procedures so it will remove the data. - If you upgrade a module however it should keep the data and tables and just upgrade the code for improved functionality.

Whatever you do backup everything first!

Hello All

We are about to release Smart-Thinker Scheduler - a scheduler that integrates with our Eventsand UserProfile module.

This means that you can set up reminders linked to events such as "let me know the day before the event starts" or "send a reminder to all those who have not replied yet to my event that there is only 3 days left".

You can also set up general notifications such as "Mum and Dad's Anniversary tomorrow" and you can be reminded when it is soneone else's birthday.

This is built on the core scheduler and should be available in the next 2 weeks.
