I would appreciate any advice regarding mapping modules that list distributor locations by Country and then by State/Province. Selecting an individual outlet then places that location on an interactive map such as google maps.

I have looked at attempting to use Coding Staff map module but it doesn't appear to be flexible enough unless you had purchased the code and made further modifications. I'm looking for something more out-of-the-box.

I am looking for a similar thing. Only I am looking for a map module/solution that can connect to a sql srvr db that is not the dnn db.
XMod and Google Maps can do it, but it requires a little more time and implementation than I have.
Netism is too complicated with no real documentation.
Adv. Biz Map seems good but I have not been able to get it to connect to a different database.
Looking into Geosprawl, I think it has the same issue.

Your biggest task will be to get all of the outlet data assembled and into a database table or set of tables.

Next, I would look at something like Reports, Form and List or SGSV from tressleworks.ca to start the task of creating the links and search to identify which location to pop up with a map.

I took a look at how Outback Steakhouse does this on their site. Basically, once you drill down to a location, the link is set to open a modal pop and is passed a "location id" that drives that display. You can do that part any number of ways, including linking to a Google map. Use javascript to jQuery for that.

Yes, this is a little bit more than just a module, but it might be a fun way to start learning javascript/jQuery.
