I'm new to DNN and I recently was requested from many clients to build websites which provide a friendly experience for users reaching the website on their mobile devices. So I can think of two options, either to use HTML5 or mobiNuke, so my questions are "does HTML5 fulfill the client’s needs? Or I have to install mobiNuke also and why? Finally when to consider MobiNuke is a must? "

I don't have any experience with MobiNuke. But, as I understand it, MobiNuke is a module that simplifies the process of adapting the look and feel of an existing DotNetNuke site to mobile devices.

This area -- mobile + DotNetNuke -- is a rapidly developing area. DotNetNuke 6.1.2 has some new features for mobile applications. I'd encourage you to look at the DotNetNuke.com blogs for descriptions and discussions of these feature.

You should also look at the Tworx.com website as they are one of the companies doing a lot of work with mobile DotNetNuke sites.

I have used MobiNuke for many years... and while it does save some time as a Shot Gun approach to performing a quick ready to go mobile approach of your DNN site, as of today's technology and advancement in Responsive HTML5 Templetizing, you are better off designing a well rounded Responsive HTML5 type of Skin. And if you do not have time for that, its very easy to purchase a fully Responsive HTML5 skin, Re-brand it and possibly study it's responsive grid system. Thats how i learn along with attending seminars about the advancement of Responsive HTML5, Bootstrap technology.

DNN Core itself has also made GREAT STRIDES in accommodating Mobile built in features today... something that did not exist 2 years ago.

I might also point out that interestingly, DNN Store no longer carries the product http://store.dnnsoftware.com/ as its been discontinued on their site...
